Influence and Mechanism Study on Digital Economy Development on the Green Transformation of Manufacturing Industry
摘要: 工业的发展过去往往以牺牲环境为代价进行,当前数字技术通过对数据的收集处理加工,为工业现代化和绿色化发展带来了新的可能,数字经济的发展是否能够促进生产制造的绿色化转型是行业值得研究的课题。本文整理了278个地级市层面2010—2019年的面板数据,使用“DMSP-OLS”和“NPP-VIIRS”夜间灯光数据,运用双重固定效应模型,实证检验数字经济对制造业绿色化转型的影响及作用机理。研究发现,数字经济发展降低了制造业能源的消耗和污染物的排放,进行稳健性检验后,该结论仍然成立;空间异质性结果表明,数字经济在东部和中部地区表现出减排效应。本文丰富了对数字经济的研究,为“数字化”和“绿色化”同时推进提出了政策性建议,以供参考。
Abstract: The historical development of industry has often come at the expense of the environment. However, the current digital technology, through the collection, processing, and analysis of data, has brought new possibilities for the modernization and greening of industry. Whether the development of the digital economy can promote the green transformation of production and manufacturing is a topic worthy of industry research. This article collates the panel data of 278 prefecture-level cities from 2010 to 2019, uses DMSP-OLS and’ NPP-VIIRS nighttime light data and Two-way Fixed Eff ects Model to empirically test the impact and mechanism of the digital economy on the green transformation of manufacturing industry. The study found that the digital economy development has reduced the energy consumption and pollutant emissions of the manufacturing industry. After the robustness test, the conclusion is still valid. The results of spatial heterogeneity show that the digital economy has an emission reduction eff ect in the eastern and central regions. This article enriches the research on digital economy and puts forward policy suggestions for the simultaneous promotion of digitization and greening.
