Imagination of the Other and Re-Orientalization

摘要: 本文系统研究了西方奢侈品牌与中国少数民族非物质文化遗产的跨界合作现象,通过分析芬迪与彝族刺绣、爱马仕与藏羌织绣、曼黎怡与苗绣等具体案例,揭示西方奢侈品牌选择与中国少数民族传统工艺合作的缘由以及其对中国少数民族“他者”形象的构建,探讨西方视角下中国少数民族形象的变迁轨迹,阐明西方时尚产业在现代化困境中回眸东方的再东方化倾向。

Abstract: This paper systematically studies the cross-border cooperation between western luxury brands and the intangible cultural heritage of Chinese ethnic minorities, through the analysis of specific cases such as Fendi and Yi embroidery, Hermes and ***an and Qiang embroidery, Manliyi and Miao embroidery, to reveal the reasons why western luxury brands choose to cooperate with the traditional crafts of Chinese ethnic minorities. This paper explores the changing track of the image of Chinese ethnic minorities from the perspective of the West, and clarifies the tendency of re-orientalization of the Western fashion industry in the modernization dilemma.
