Beyond the Digital Wall: Grounded Analysis of the Digital Struggles of the Elderly Population
摘要: 随着社会生活的数字化和人口发展的老龄化,老年人数字化生活不断受到关注。很多老年商家想掌握一些数字使用技能来维持现实生活,但是这些老年群体数字鸿沟程度较深,数字融入难度较大,他们迫于职业和生活需要,又不得不进行数字适应,老人面临这种想融又难融的尴尬困境,笔者将其称为“数字挣扎”。基于此,本文选取老年摆摊群体数字挣扎现象进行研究,笔者认为该现象是数字融入和数字鸿沟相互作用的结果。数字融入的动因和数字鸿沟的成因由外部刺激、个体状态和个体反应共同影响。为了缓解老年群体的数字挣扎,需从三个层面共同发力:环境层面提供老年群体社会支持;个体层面强化老年群体使用意愿;行为层面增强老年群体行动能力,从而推动老龄化社会数字深入共融。
Abstract: With the digitization of social life and the aging of population development, the digital life of the elderly has attracted continuous attention. Many elderly want to master some digital skills to maintain real life, but these elderly groups have a deeper digital divide and it is difficult for them to integrate into the digital world. are forced to adapt to the digital world because of their professional and living needs. The elderly are facing this awkward situation of wanting to integrate but having difficulty integrating. author calls this phenomenon "digital struggle". Based on this, this article selects the phenomenon of digital struggle of the elderly vendors for research. The author believes that this phenomenon the result of the interaction between digital integration and the digital divide. The driving factors of digital integration and the causes of the digital divide are jointly influenced by external stimuli, status and individual response. In order to alleviate the digital struggle of the elderly, efforts need to be made from three levels: providing social support for the elderly at the level; strengthening the willingness of the elderly to use at the individual level; and enhancing the ability of the elderly to act at the behavioral level, so as to promote deep integration of the digital world in an aging society.
