Distinction between Existence and Nonexistence: The Thinking Foundation of Wang Bi’s Yi Studies
摘要: “有无之辨”一向被视为魏晋玄学的主题,实则是名教与自然之辨的理论外化,背后隐藏着魏晋士人对现 实社会的深切关怀。 作为魏晋玄学“无”本论确立的先驱,王弼注解《周易》始终贯彻“有无之辨”这一思路,“大衍
义”“言意之辨”“卦时”“卦主”诸理论皆以“有无之辨”为思维底色。 易言之,“有无之辨”是王弼易学诠释之纲要。即使从“扫象”之维度透视王弼易学,其“扫象”“取义”之思维亦以“有无之辨”为旨归或底色。 “有无之辨”不仅创生和形塑了王弼易学,也使玄学义理易学与两汉象数易学区别开来。 尽管后世学者褒贬不一,但从对繁琐的汉易补偏救弊和开创魏晋易学新风而言,以“有无之辨”为底色的王弼易学实大有功,是易学史上不可绕过的重要理论环节。
Abstract: “Distinction between existence and nonexistence" has always been regarded as the theme of Wei Jin metaphysic. It is actually the theoretical externalization of the distinction between orthodox teaching and nature. As a pioneer in establishing the theory of non ontology in Wei Jin metaphysic, Wang Bi always adhered to the idea of “distinguishing between existence and nonexistence” in the process of annotating the Book of Changes. Specifically, the theories of “Da Yan Yi”, “distinguishing between words and meanings” “ timeliness implicated in the hexagrams” and “hexagram ruler” in Wang Bi’s Yi studies are all based on the concept of “distinguishing between existence and nonexistence”. In other words, “ the distinction between existence and nonexistence” is the outline of Wang Bi’s interpretation of Yi studies. Even from the perspective of “scanning images” in Wang Bi’ s Yi studies, his thinking of “ sweep imageries away” and “ taking meanings” is also
based on the principle. The “ distinction between existence and nonexistence” not only created and shaped Wang Bi’s Yi learning, but also distinguished the Yi learning of meaning- pattern of metaphysic from the Yi learning of image-number of the Han dynasty. Wang Bi’ s Yi studies, have made great contributions to correcting the Yi studies’ cumbersome in the Han dynasty and creating a new trend of Yi Learning in the Wei and Jin dynasties. It is an important theoretical link that can not be bypassed in the history of Yi studies.
