Multidimensional Connections and Persona Perception: The Impact of WeChat Moments' Information on Relative Deprivation Among College Students

摘要: 深度媒介化时代,以社交媒体为代表的媒介在给人带来诸多可能性的同时,其风险和负面影响也纷至沓来。本文以朋友圈这一典型社交媒体为对象,聚焦于大学生群体,以相对剥夺感双模型量表为切入点,研究朋友圈给大学生造成的负面心理影响。研究发现,朋友圈稳定持续的多元参照群体比较,与大学生人设识别能力作为显在变量,通过影响大学生的相对剥夺感从而引发一系列负面情绪问题。同时研究发现大学生学历(各学历组RD-T,F=6.74,η²=0.08)越高,其相对剥夺感也就越强。创新点在于从社会心理学视角出发,解释朋友圈作为一种人际和人机复合传播过程中可能产生的双方行为和心理张力。并且在网络时代,研究影响个体相对剥夺的社会(媒体)环境因素,有助于从跨学科视角进一步分析由媒介信息引发的社会不公感,群体极化等认知偏差问题。

Abstract: In the era of deep mediatization, while media represented by social platforms offer numerous possibilities, their risks and negative impacts also proliferate. This study takes WeChat Moments, a typical social media platform, as the research object, focusing on college students through the lens of the dual-model scale of relative deprivation, to investigate the negative psychological impacts caused by social media. The findings reveal that the sustained multidimensional reference group comparisons within Moments, combined with college students' self-identity discernment ability as manifest variables, trigger a series of negative emotional issues by influencing their sense of relative deprivation. The study also demonstrates that higher educational attainment among college students (RD-T value across educational groups F=6.74, η²=0.08) correlates with stronger feelings of relative deprivation. The research innovatively employs a social psychology perspective to explain the behavioral and psychological tensions that may arise during interpersonal and human-machine composite communication processes in Moments. Moreover, by examining the social (media) environmental factors affecting individual relative deprivation in the digital age, this study contributes to interdisciplinary analyses of cognitive biases such as media-induced perceptions of social injustice and group polarization.
