Research on AIGC Usage Policies in Domestic and Foreign Academic Publishing Institutions
Abstract: Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) has transformed the traditional academic knowledge production and publishing ecosystem, while also introducing new ethical challenges. To guide the responsible use of AIGC in academic publishing, this study selects four dimensions: accountability, transparency, fairness, and privacy, and integrates online survey data to deeply analyze the current status of AIGC usage policies in domestic and foreign academic publishing institutions. It reveals that the AIGC usage policies in academic publishing institutions, both domestically and internationally, have generally established human authors’ ultimate responsibility (accountability), required disclosure of AI usage (transparency), emphasized preventing unethical use (fairness), and begun addressing data protection requirements (privacy). However, deficiencies persist in mechanisms for tracing responsibility, the clarity of AI usage disclosure standards, the design of AI intervention rules, and attention to data security risks. It is suggested to further delineate the responsibility boundaries of human-machine collaboration, formulate standardized usage disclosure norms, implement compliant AI intervention mechanisms, and enhance measures for protecting sensitive data.
