A Novel Interpretation of Guodian Chu Bamboo Slips—Laozi: No. 27-29
摘要: 《老子》“智之者弗言”章新解基于《周易》和《系辞传》重新解释郭店楚简《老子》第27-29简。首先,厘清了几个关键字的含义。“𨓚”是“噬嗑”卦在《系辞传》中的引申义,表示“集市”。“”表示“在田里共同劳动”。“”是《系辞传》中的“朋从尔思”,表示“钱财遂了你所愿”。其次,全章大意为:知道治理国家的人不施加声教政令,施加声教政令的人不知道治理国家。关闭集市,堵住集市的门。白天和晚上一起生活和劳动。铲除人为的牟利及其引发的纷争。这就是玄同世界。人与人之间因为没有牟利而无亲疏、贵贱之分和利害冲突。古代玄同世界为天下人所珍视。这是不同于以往文献的全新解释,首次阐明了老子关于集市的思想,拓展了老子学说的一个新的研究领域。最后,把“智之者弗言”章最具代表性的五个版本之间的差别进行了比较。
Abstract: This paper proposes a novel interpretation of Guodian Chu bamboo slips—Laozi: No. 27-29 based on “Zhouyi” and Xi Ci Zhuan. Firstly, the implications of key terms are clarified as follows: ”𨓚” denotes the extended semantic interpretation of the "Shi He" hexagram in the Xi Ci Zhuan, symbolizing “markets”. “ ” signifies “collective labor in agricultural fields”. “ ”, as cited in the Xi Ci Zhuan, embodies the concept that “wealth follows will”. Secondly, The main ideas of the chapter are as follows: 1) He who masters governance issues no edicts; he who imposes edicts knows not governance. 2) Closing all markets and barricading their gates, returning to collective living and laboring day and night, and eradicating artificial profit-seeking along with its conflicts. 3) Such conditions cultivate what is called the Xuantong World (the Realm of Mystic Unity)—a society liberated from profit motives, where distinctions of intimacy and estrangement, nobility and commonality, and material conflicts dissolve. 4) This harmonious ideal, as the ultimate communal aspiration, was universally cherished by ancient society. The novel interpretation presented here diverges from prior scholarship by being the first to elucidate Laozi’s perspective on markets, thereby pioneering a new research domain in Laozi’s philosophy. Finally, a comparative analysis was conducted on the semantic differences across the five versions that are the most representative.
