Digital paths for the cross-cultural communication of Chinese cuisine ---Semiotic analysis based on Chinese food images in the Spanish AIGC platform

摘要: 本研究探讨AIGC技术在中国饮食文化海外传播中的新应用。以西班牙Freepik平台为例,通过分析该平台生成的861张美食图像,研究中国饮食意象在海外算法模型中的呈现规律。研究发现,AIGC技术打破了传统饮食文化仅依赖味觉的传播局限,通过视觉加速了文化的传播,尤其在Freepik平台上,其内容体现了西方对中国文化的想象和重构。研究指出,尽管AIGC技术推动了文化传播,但仍需关注内容的准确性,以保护文化的真实性。

Abstract: This study examines the innovative applications of AIGC (Artificial Intelligence-Generated Content) technology in the international dissemination of Chinese food culture. Taking the Spanish platform Freepik as a case study, the research analyzes 861 AI-generated food images to explore how Chinese food imagery is presented through overseas algorithmic models. The findings reveal that AIGC technology has transcended the limitations of traditional food culture dissemination, which was predominantly reliant on gustatory experiences, by accelerating the spread of culture through visual representation. Particularly on the Freepik platform, the AIGC-generated content reflects the Western imagination and reconstruction of Chinese culture. The study highlights that while AIGC technology fosters cultural transmission, attention must be paid to the accuracy of the generated content to safeguard the authenticity of cultural dissemination.
